Clinical Question: Is there an increase of maximum strength of the flexor muscle
groups of the forearm after, on the one hand, the application of the hooking
technique in agonist muscles and, on the other hand, in antagonist?
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of the hooking technique in the increase of
maximum strength in the flexor forearm muscles after the application of the technique
on the anterior part of the forearm by one side and posterior part on the other side in
adult subjects between 18 and 30 years without disease in the dominant upper
extremity.
Methods: A randomized controlled trial study with blind simple will be performed. It
will take place in the period between September 2018 and April 2019. There will be
four different groups: two experimental groups and two control groups, each one
formed by 20 subjects, who are pursuing their degree studies in the University of
Lleida, whose age will be between 18 and 30 years and who will not have any
disease in the dominant upper extremity. The experimental groups will receive a
hooking protocol, one of them on the anterior part of forearm and the other on the
posterior; meanwhile in the other groups the technique will be simulated. The levels
of maximum strength will be evaluated before, immediately, 30 minutes and 2 hours
after the intervention. The study will last for two months, dedicating two weeks for
each group. |
