The aim of this paper is to explain the process realized during the design and
construction of a creep test apparatus to be used by the school for upcoming
investigation. The device should be capable of carrying out constant load pure
tensile test on metallic samples exposed to high temperature. The first step is a
study of the theoretical basics of creep of metals in order to understand what
necessary specifications the apparatus should cover apart from revising some
literature about this kind of equipment. After this and once known which
experiments are going to be realized, a viable and efficient design for the machine
was done. The last step is its construction in the school facilities and proof of
reliability of the results obtained making tests with the built equipment. |
