The mission of my internship in Keolis Lyon was to rationalize the supply chain of replacement components of a public transport operator, in order to reduce the stocks-outs. To achieve these objectives, I have been assigned to perform two tasks. The first one was to participate in the design and organization of a new central platform, which will centralize the stock of different storage locations, with the objective of finding a better stock management. This study suggests what components should be stocked in the platform by following the ABC classification system. During this period, we have defined each component location, taking into account their rotation to achieve an efficient distribution of the storage area. The second one was to manage the operational tasks, related to the development of the existing stores. The distribution improvement of Caluire’s store was set up with the available resources. The result of this new and more logic distribution helped the mechanics to find the pieces faster. Finally, I have also worked in the stores separation, in La Soie. It involves arranging the components according to their consumption. This is a transition phase in order to facilitate the organisational change, before the opening of the definitive logistics platform.
