Abstract:

Abstract:

The following thesis describes a case study which analyses the La Paloma building, an emblematic, yet banned for its surrounding nature, nightclub located in the Raval neighborhood of Barcelona. Never-the-less, the building not only holds an important historical value to the city, but it also maintains historical sentiment.
On first hand, the study of the building has the purpose of analyzing the different possible acoustic parameters in order to determine a consistent and sole use for the building. This analysis is based on the unification of parameters made by different authors, achieving higher valuation subjectivity.
Furthermore, a plausible solution is described with the purpose of solving the consistent generation of noise given to the climate control system in La Paloma premises and surroundings, which has been troubling the nature of the building. This is done by integrating the current existing structure, with the HVAC system and the historical value of the building, making a non-destructive intervention inside the building. |
