Report exposes why there is a need to apply the science into the human towers, it proposes the use of an inertial measurement unit to obtain information about this human constructions; information that could help to improve the performance of the human towers and could also prevent severe injuries when performing it.
An inertial measurement unit is an electronic device that takes measures from a body’s specific force, angular rate and the magnetic field that is next to the body. It is possible by using an accelerometer, a gyroscope and a magnetometer.
The following project report contains the development of a first prototype of printed circuit board used to read and save measures taken from the human towers making use of an inertial measurement sensor and also the software required to allow its viability. The prototype has been named IMUTOWER.
In the report is explained how the printed circuit board has to operate and how it should store the measures from the inertial sensor into a memory card. Also there is explained some improvements that may be applied over the same in case there will be a rework of this prototype. |
