In this project, it has been studied an outlook of the global maritime fleet in terms of type of vessels, size, and age; besides, the impact and role that play in the petrochemical sector, and more specifically, in the Spanish ports among the years. Moreover, it has been studied the impact of the carbon footprint emissions due to shipping activity. The first part is an outlook of the world maritime fleet according to age, size, type of vessel and cargo, etc. Moreover, there is an outlook of the Spanish Petrochemical field in terms of type of traffic, type of cargo, import/export, etc. In addition, it has been studied the main Spanish Petrochemical ports and types of cargo. The second part of the project refers to Pollution reduction legislation. In this sense, it has been explained the main technical measures in order to reduce air pollution in shipping implemented by the European Council and IMO. The last part of the study is a case study with real data from petrochemical vessels. With technical data from vessels chartered, together with their consumption and cargo shipped, it has been mapped the EEOI index in order to compare the efficiency of vessels chartered within Spanish ports. With the data collected, it has been studied and compared these values in order to extract patterns in terms of efficiency |
