Abstract:

The objective of this project is to show the transcendency of Ciceron’s work and his value as one of the pioneers in the history of Spanish translation. It was these new facets that became apparent to me in recent examination of his work, which ultimately have given me the incentive for this project. To complete this work, I have taken at least one or, in some occasions, two representative writers with examples of their works from each century between 14th and 19th inclusive. After much analysing, I have hoped to confirm that Ciceron has been a constant factor in these writers and translator’s works. Not only do they take his theories on board but/nalso use them to justify their own work and take his theories forward. So, you can clearly see a definite evolution between the 14th and 19th centuries in their work. Isn’t it fascinating that all roads still lead to Rome? |
