The monastic complex of Sant Daniel, in the valley of the same name in Girona, remains active from the date of its foundation by the countess Ermessenda and the count Ramon Borrell. The monastery has undergone continuous expansions and it renovations as it affects the building and the female Benedictine community. This paper aims to collect all the bibliographic material to give an updated reading doing, also, an attentive reading of the walls. The attention is focus to the Romanesque period, so studying their church and the cloister from architectural and functional view

El conjunt monàstic de Sant Daniel, situat a la vall homònima de la ciutat de Girona, es manté actiu des de la data de la seva fundació per part de la comtessa Ermessenda i el comte Ramon Borrell. El monestir ha experimentat contínues ampliacions i reformes que han afectat tant l'edifici com la comunitat femenina benedictina que acull. Aquest estudi té com a finalitat aplegar el material bibliogràfic relacionat amb el monestir per oferir-ne una lectura actualitzada fent, també, una lectura atenta dels murs. Es focalitzarà l'atenció al període romànic de dit conjunt, per tant, estudiant-ne l'església i el claustre des d'un vessant tant arquitectònic com funcional
