El Ministerio Público (M.P.) es 'un organismo autónomo, jerarquizado, con personalidad jurídica no independiente de la del fisco, sin patrimonio propio, impedido o con prohibición de ejercer funciones jurisdiccionales, al cual le corresponde dirigir en forma exclusiva la investigación de los hechos constitutivos de delito, de los que determinan la participación punible y de los que acreditan la inocencia del imputado, y ejercer, en su caso, la acción penal pública en la forma prevista por la ley, y, adoptar medidas para proteger a las víctimas y a los testigos'. The Public Court is an autonomous organism, ranked in hierarchy, whose juris personality in not independent from the fisc, patrimonyless (propertyless), debarred or prohibited to exert jurisdictional functions, whose duty is exclusively to manage investigations on the facts constituting crime, those determining punishable participation and those acrediting nonguiltiness; and to execute, when it corresponds, the public penalty action according to legal norms, taking measures in order to protect victims and witnesses.
