Curs 2015-2016 In recent years many SNPs have been identified, some of these linked to certain diseases and other with unknown effects. Different web servers have been developed to classify SNP in pathological or not pathological. This web servers have little predictive character and are based on globular proteins. In this study were analysed SNPs of membrane proteins (MP). MP are very important for a wide variety of diseases which are associated. In addition, the 3D fold and the sequence of MP present specific characteristics. In this study, we have developed a web server that calculates parameters as entropy and amino acid frequencies for all SNPs identified in membrane proteins. The analysis of these parameters for pathological and pathological SNPs shows that there are significant differences between the two groups, suggesting that these parameters can be useful to predict the effect of a SNP in the structure and function of membrane proteins.
