Dorcatominae, sección Petalium Leconte, 1861 (Coleoptera: Anobiidae) Viñolas, Amador Parapetalium espanyoli gen. n., sp. n. is now described from Uganda, Tropical African Region. This new Dorcatominae belongs to the Petalium LeConte, 1861 section due to the morphology of the metasternal lobe, the second abdominal sternite and the aedeagus. It could easily be distinguished from Exopetalium Español, 1963, Afropetalium Español, 1964, and Nesopetalium Español, 1968, by the antennae, prothorax very transverse, lateral stria of the elytra and aedeagical morphology (parameres reduced, lobe of the parameres long and the development of the median lobe). It also differs from Petalium LeConte, 1861, Synanobium Schilsky, 1899, and Metapetalium Español, 1967, by the metasternal lobe not narrowed on the base. The keys to genus and species from the African Region are also included. It was collected from a fungus, Fomes fomentarius (L.: Fr.) Fr., that was growing on an alder (Alnus glutinosa) at Arnois (in the Ulla valley) in the municipality of A Estrada in Pontevedra. The Dichillus laevicornis described by Reitter in 1886 and only known from the type series, belonging to the group of Dichillus minutus Solier, 1838, which is proper to north and central Europe and does not cross the Pyrenees, caused Kocher (1958) to cast doubt on its validity as a species and refer to it as the result of a mistake in the locality. The capture of a male specimen on Tamara beach, south of Rabat, on 12-IV-1992 (T. Yélamos leg.) confirms the validity of this species. A specimen of Catomus vaulogeri Théry, 1932, was found in Tizi-n-Talrhemt, High Moluya, on 9-IV-1990 (X. Vázquez leg.). Previously only the type specimen from Missour, High Moluya, was known, placed by Théry in the genus Catomus Allard, 1876, and left there by Antoine (1945-47) and Kocher (1958) with doubts about its specific and generic validity. The species has nothing to do with Catomus and so the genus Pseudocatomus n. gen. is proposed for it.; La a captura de numerosos ejemplares de Tenebrionidae durante estos últimos años en Marruecos, ha permitido situar correctamente dos especies dudosas. El Dichillus laevicornis descrito por Reitter en 1886 y del que sólo se conocen la serie típica, perteneciente al grupo de Dichillus minutus Solier, 1838, propio de norte y centro de Europa y que no traspasa los Pirineos, hizo que Kocher (1958) pusiera en duda su validez específica, refiriéndose a él como un error de localización. La captura de un ejemplar macho el 12-IV-1992, en la playa de Tamara, al sur de Rabat, T. Yélamos leg., confirma la validez de esta especie. La localización de un ejemplar de Catomus vaulogeri Théry, 1932, 9-IV-1990, en Tizi-n-Talrhemt, Alto Moluya, X. Vázquez leg., del que sólo se conocía el ejemplar tipo de Missour, en el Alto Moluya, situado por Théry en el género Catomus Allard, 1876 y mantenido como tal por Antoine (1945-47) y Kocher (1958), con dudas de su validez específica y genérica.
