This assignment is based in a previous TFG realized 6 years ago. In this project the rehabilitation of the piston engine of a test bench located in the "Institut Illa dels Banyols" in the town of "El Prat de Llobregat" has been carried out. For this, the problems that the engine had when it has been unused for more than 4 years have been solved, and additionally, systems have been improved and added for better performance and operation. The idea of the previous project to obtain the engine data from the CAT, CHT and EGT sensors and the action on the engine ignition system has also been recovered. From this idea, a similar system has been made including improvements to it and changes that have allowed the system of action, which never worked, now it does. In order to carry it out, an Arduino UNO and the LabVIEW software have been used, which allow to read the data from the sensors and act on the engine systems. These shows the information collected through a simple and intuitive visual interface that lets the user to perfectly interact with the engine from a computer. With all this, the engine has been put back into operation, including some systems that had never been installed and it has been possible to graphically and numerically display the values of the sensors to facilitate the monitoring and study of the motor behaviour. Thereby, students can use the test bench to learn the operation of a piston engine, its handling and identification of failures and how to solve them. |
