Research question: Will a telephone support by the health coach by a nursing
school with Type 2 Diabetes (DM2) that is poorly controlled in the primary health care
area really result?
Objectives: To design an intervention program with the objective of evaluating the
effectiveness of glycemic control, to meditate on the HbA1c concentration of the
patient controlled with DM2, of a telephone support by a trained nurse in health
coach, in the field of primary health care.
Methods: An almost experimental, controlled study was designed with control group
(CG) and intervention group (IG) with a sample of 226 individuals, between 30 and
80 years old, of Tárrega and Pla d’Urgell's basic health area, affected by DM2 and
with HbAc1 ≥10. The sample was divided into two groups: the CG received the
conventional treatment and the GI received the conventional treatment plus a
telephone follow-up from a nurse trained in coach-health. The duration of the
intervention would be 12 months. During the study, evaluations were carried out at
the first visit and at the last one at the CG, while in the IG, along with the evaluations
at the beginning and at the end of the evaluation, HbAc1 was also evaluated 6
months after the intervention. |
