This project is intended to remotely control and monitor the state of the Expendable Seafloor Observatory (OBSEA) power supply. The design of the power supply is actually an array of 12 powers supplies connected together in series to produce a single powerful and controllable power supply. Each power supply can be turn on or off making this power supply capable of generating voltages from a minimum of 27 Volt to a maximum of 324 Volt. In order to control and monitor the state power supply remotely, a system is built in this project. The system is capable to turn on and off the each individual power supply separately and monitor the output generated from the whole power supplies remotely from a distance. This project consist of producing a printed circuit board capable of handling the objective of the project, creating a user friendly control panel so that the power supply can be control with ease and also creating a system that have remote control capabilities. To be able to control the state of each individual power supply twelve relays is used to act as switches. The printed circuit board produced in this project has 12 digital outputs. This digital output is the connected to the relays so that the relays state is controllable, thus making the power supply also controllable. To monitor the voltage generated by the power supply, the whole power supply output is connected to one of the printed circuit board analog input. In order to make this system capable of remotely control and monitor, remote communication system is created. This system is based on Ethernet to serial communication system making the system is capable of controlling and monitors the state of the power from any distance within the local area network. A user control panel is created using LabVIEW program to ensure that controlling and monitoring the power supply can be done with ease. The result of this project is the state of the power supply now is able to be control and monitor remotely with ease.
