In the autumn of 2011 nine students from Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium, China and Spain participated in the European Project Semester hosted by Novia University of Applied Sciences in Vaasa. From September until the middle of December this project group worked on a project for Norcar-BSB. The Norcar Group manufactures and markets Norcar miniloaders, Minkomatic machines and Norcar automation robot applications. The objective of this project was to change a Norcar miniloader, namely the model a60, to make it emission-free so as to enable users to work with it indoors. The instructions were that the miniloader must keep the functionalities that it already had and that it must be recognized as part of the Norcar product family. The project work was divided into three phases: the “Pre-investigation phase”, “Solutions and innovation phase” and the “Documentation phase”. During the project the group has visited the companies Vacon, ABB and Westenergy, learned about a similar project in Technobothnia. During the Energy Day at the University of Vaasa the project group informed the general public about the EPS project. |
