In the project has been made a study of the preparation of systems of three and five layers of ne biopolymer such as acid polylactic (PLA) and a conductive polymer, Poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) intercalated, for the formation of dressings with and without drug (curcumin) and its characterization.
The techniques used have been electrospinning for the formation of PLA nanofibers and electropolymerization for the formation of electroconductive film from PEDOT.
Once the systems without drug were created, and for their characterization, several processes were used, which consisted of:
Determination of the loss of electroactivity of the systems by ciclovoltamperometry.
· Determination of the total thickness of both systems by profilometry
· Determination of the chemical composition of systems using infrared spectrometry (FTIR)
· Determination of the structure of the systems through the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).
The characterization of the systems with the incorporated drug was mainly the qualitative determination of the release of the drug by diffusion, in PBS and PBS-EtOH (10%), by electro-stimulation by CV (in PBS and PBS-EtOH (10%)) and CA in PBS.
Finally it was determined that the multilayer system is formed but without maintaining the structure of the microfiber PLA. These systems, on the other hand, are more resistant to electrostimulation when the outer layer is made of PLA since it acts as an electrical insulator and protects the conductive polymer. |
