Over the years, users who use wireless devices, such as mobile devices, have increased exponentially. In addition, there is a growing tendency to use a large group of wireless services in the same device. It is for this reason, that radio frequency (RF) designers and implementers are continuously investigating techniques to improve microwave devices, such as, resonators, filters, oscillators and tuned amplifiers, in order to be able to execute all these services perfectly. The main disadvantage of using this type of technology is that the size of the device is directly related to the electromagnetic wavelength at a given frequency. Due to its high dimensions, the integration of these components becomes a very difficult task. Electro-acoustic technology is being the preferred one for the development of resonators and filters since a few years ago. It presents the best performance in terms of miniaturization because the phase velocity of an acoustic wave is 5 order of magnitude lower than the velocity of an electromagnetic wave. As a result, it is possible to reduce the wavelength, which is responsible for determining the dimensions of the devices designed. Moreover, it also presents a good behavior in terms of multi-frequency operability (Carrier Aggregation), low insertion losses and power handling. Currently, there are two types of technology that allow to implement this type of resonators: Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) and Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW). Despite being an innovative technology very useful for solving the limitations described above, these resonators suffer from a nonlinear effect. The origin of this problem lies in the nonlinearities that are inherent to their manufacturing materials. The RF engineers propose several scenarios in order to analyze the materials that generate this nonlinear problem. The use of simulators with distributed models is very useful for the creation of these hypothetical scenarios, which helps to find the origin of the nonlinearities of the device. This Bachelor's Degree thesis is focused on the creation and design of an emulator for studying and analyzing the linear and nonlinear behavior of those devices.
