The main objective of the project is to make an adjustment of a propagation model in the 800 MHz band for LTE with the ICS planning tool. To do so, the methodology is exposed to achieve the most optimal propagation model possible based on the comparison of the real values obtained from the measurement campaign and the simulated values obtained from the simulation tool. In the methodology section, a series of parameters have been defined to analyze and determine the behavior of a propagation model. The obtaining of these parameters is done through the implementation of a series of functions performed in MATLAB, which calculate these parameters and show us a series of graphs that facilitate the evaluation of the model. A concise description is also made of the ICS-Telecom simulation tool and the main parameters it contains. Subsequently, it is explained how the campaign of measures to obtain LTE measures in the 800MHz band has been carried out. It explains the process of site selection, the criteria that have been followed to make this selection, the equipment used to perform the measurements and the configuration parameters that have been made for each base station. For the evaluation of the model, a series of general simulations is performed to discard some models, later, a series of modifications will be made in terms of diffraction and “subpath” and finally a clutter attenuation adjustment will be made, to improve the behavior of the model. This will be done both in the urban environment and in the rural environment. Finally, the results obtained in this analysis are shown and the conclusions obtained from each environment and the improvements that can be made in the adjustment of the model obtained are presented. Additionally, for a better understanding of the project, the characteristics of the LTE technology, the mechanisms and components that exist in the propagation of radio waves and the most common propagation models to analyze the two proposed environments are exposed: rural environment and urban environment.
