[ANGLÈS] The Electrical Grids increasingly need the incorporation of new sources of renewable and clean energy sources to supply the demand without causing greater impact to the environment. Among the sources of renewable energy, solar and wind generation should be highlighted. In order to connect to the grid, they need to comply with the parameters set by the global network in terms of voltage amplitude and phase of operation.
The inverter is the central element for the injection of the generated power into the grid, and the controller of the inverter is the key element that determines its behavior.
Up to now inverters have limited themselves to supplying a clean sinusoidal current, but in an increasingly electronic world, the connection of non-linear loads to the system causes the waveform of the Electrical Grid presents distortions due to the presence of harmonics.
The objective of this work is to design a different controller that does not deliver a pure sinusoidal current, but delivers a distorted current that is able to eliminate the harmonics present in voltage at the point of common coupling. Based on the experience and capacity of the available equipment is looking for the harmonics of fifth, seventh and ninth order with respect to the fundamental frequency, which affect mostly the three-phase systems.
The design of the control is implemented both in Matlab, and in Simulink of an Electrical Grid with a renewable generation source to specify the operating parameters, a predominantly inductive network impedance, an inverter with its own control for coupling to the Grid and the controller proposed for elimination of harmonics. The proposed control is based on the injection of reactive current for cancellation of the voltage harmonics.
Given that the electrical grid to be considered is three-phase, the Clarke transform is used to bring the voltage and current signals to their alpha and beta equivalents and to apply the control, the sequence of both positive and negative operations is determined using a sequence extractor based on Second Order Generalized Integrator (SOGI). |
