This project has been carried out in collaboration with the elarco design
consultancy, focused on the study and design of products for the social integration
of the physically disabled.
In the context of the city of Barcelona and its potential development as a smart
city, elarco has fallen back on the possibility of connecting urban mobility related to
people with visual disabilities with the emerging unmanned aircraft vehicle (UAV)
sector.
The objective is to analyze the project viability of a UAV platform to assist visually
impaired in their daily mobility, granting a starting point for the future development
of said platform. In order to achieve the goal, the following methodological
structure is going to be followed: Blindness status quo, assistive technologies,
survey, state of the art, strategic definition and concept and conclusions.
Once the study has been completed, it can be concluded that it is a project of
great complexity not only because of the user's physical disability but also because
of its emotional context, as well as the intrinsic regulatory, design and
technological difficulties of the same project. With all this, a starting point decision
has been taken which in our opinion is the most feasible for the development of
said platform. |
