Abstract:

Nowadays the increasing of the UAV industry and its technology is making possible that smaller and a ordable electronics are being developed for the general public. The rise of the UAV is conquering sector over sector, from the cinematography industry to intelligent agriculture. There are some complex sectors and environments which are still unexplored. In this thesis a practical solution combined with theoretical research will be proposed to create a Fixed Wing UAV which will be design and assembled to y over alpine mountain environments. This platform will be capable of autonomous ight and executing planned missions, being optimised for ying in those conditions. Di erent sensing equipment will also be installed in the platform to allow survey scans and surveillance missions. The objective is to develop a platform capable of gathering data for snow and avalanche study. The UAV will also be used to assist rescues. In the di erent sections of this project detailed descriptions of the design and assembly steps, results of the ight test and mapping and snow layers studies will be presented. |
