Two different heterogeneous ceramic/ceramic composite materials based on cBN reinforcement particles will be investigated in order to correlate their microstructure (i.e. grain size, contiguity, etc) and micromechanical properties (mainly hardness and elastic modulus).
In order to reach this goal, advanced characterization techniques will be emploied along this Master thesis (i.e. field emission scanning electron microscopy, focused ion beam, atomic force microscopy, nanoindentation, among others). |
