Juventud camerunesa y catalana en el espejo de la globalización

Abstract

El fenómeno de la globalización da lugar a nuevos paisajes sociales que no solo cambian el significado de conceptos como identidad, sino también facilita la convivencia, el conocimiento de la alteridad. El análisis de la globalización puede hacerse desde una dimensión económica, social, política, cultural, etc. En este trabajo nos interesamos por la dimensión sociocultural a partir de unas entrevistas realizadas a 16 informantes del actual mundo globalizado, de los cuales 8 catalanes y 8 cameruneses. Analizamos qué idea tienen los universitarios cameruneses y catalanes sobre la globalización, cómo la valoran dentro de su contexto geográfico y hasta qué punto sus efectos negativos o en el mejor de los casos positivos inciden en su vida diaria y en la visión que tienen sobre sí mismos y sobre la alteridad. Tomando en cuenta que la juventud es la piedra angular para un futuro mejor, los resultados a los que llegamos en nuestro estudio nos parecen pertinentes para plantear reflexiones críticas y medidas de actuación sobre la formación y la educación para una ciudadanía global cada vez más consciente de los retos que suponen vivir en una sociedad globalizada.

The phenomenon of globalization gives rise to new social landscapes that not only change the meaning of concepts such as identity, but also facilitate coexistence, the knowledge of otherness. The analysis of globalization can be done from an economic, social, political, cultural, etc. dimension. In this work we are interested in the sociocultural dimension based on interviews carried out with 16 informants from the current globalized world, including of which 8 Catalans and 8 Cameroonians. We analyze what Cameroonian and Catalan university students have about globalization, how they value it within its geographical context and to what extent its negative or positive effects affect their daily life and the vision they have about themselves. and about alterity. Taking into account that youth is the cornerstone for a better future, the results that we reach in our opinion seem pertinent to raise critical reflections and action measures on training and education for a global citizenship increasingly aware of the challenges that involve living in a globalized society.
