La Baronia de Sant Oïsme : “A Baronia, el llop hi fa niu i la guineu hi cria”

Abstract

El poble de la Baronia de Sant Oïsme està integrat a l’actual municipi de Camarasa. Se situa dalt d’un turó, damunt el riu Noguera Pallaresa, abans d’entrar al congost de Terradets davant la vall d’Àger. Gairebé és buit gran part de l’any, però conserva un patrimoni excepcional al voltant de l’església romànica de Sant Bartomeu (segle XI) i l’antic castell de Sant Oïsme, del qual es conserven mur i una torre rodona restaurada. La seva història és una veritable crònica de les terres altes de la Noguera.

The village of Baronia de Sant Oïsme is part of the current municipality of Camarasa. It is located on a hill above the Noguera Pallaresa river, before entering the Terradets gorge facing the Àger valley. It is almost empty for much of the year, but it preserves an exceptional heritage around the Romanesque church of Sant Bartomeu (11th century) and the old castle of Sant Oïsme, of which a wall and a restored round tower are preserved. Its history is a true chronicle of the highlands of the Noguera region.
