La presente investigación tiene como propósito diagnosticar el estado de integración de las TIC en los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la Unidad Educativa Particular Terranova, situada en Cumbayá, Ecuador. El marco teórico está centrado en las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) en la enseñanza, sus posibilidades y obstáculos, algunas experiencias de su integración en contextos educativos, y las últimas tendencias, desafíos y progresos en relación a las mismas; en los planes de integración de las TIC en Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, España, Perú y Venezuela; y en la Competencia Digital, tanto del docente como del alumnado. La metodología que se utiliza parte de un paradigma interpretativo y se encauza hacia una investigación de tipo empírica exploratoria cuya metodología es mixta y en la que el enfoque cualitativo tiene un gran peso durante el proceso de investigación, a pesar de que también se recaba información de un instrumento cuantitativo como es el cuestionario. Los resultados obtenidos destacan la existencia de cierto nivel de integración de las TIC en los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje al mismo tiempo que se señala la necesidad institucional de proveer a un número considerable de sus docentes con más tiempo y formación en TIC, con inversiones en más tabletas y ordenadores, con un Coordinador de TIC para las secciones de Preescolar y Primaria y con licencias de plataformas educativas en línea. |

This research has as principal purpose to diagnose the state of integration of ICT in the school’s teaching-learning processes of the "Unidad Educativa Particular Terranova", located in Cumbayá, Ecuador. The theoretical framework is focused on information and communications technology (ICT) in education, their possibilities and obstacles, some experiences of their integration in educational contexts, and the latest trends, challenges and progress in relation to ICT; in plans for ICT integration in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, Peru and Venezuela; and the Digital Competence, both the teacher and the students. The methodology that is used comes from the interpretive paradigm and it is part of an empirical and exploratory investigation whose methodology is mixed and in which the qualitative approach has great weight during the investigation process even though it also gathers information from a quantitative tool as the questionnaire. The results highlights the existence of a certain level of integration of ICT in the teaching-learning processes while institutional needs are also noticed in order to provide a considerable number of teachers with more time and training in ICT, to invest in more tablets and computers, to provide the Preschool and Primary sections with an ICT Coordinator, and to renew online educational platforms licenses. |
