Efectividad del entrenamiento de la musculatura flexora profunda del cuello en pacientes con Síndrome de latigazo cervical: Estudio controlado aleatorizado.

Abstract

Pregunta de investigación: ¿Cuáles son los efectos del entrenamiento de la musculatura flexora cervical profunda en pacientes con Síndrome de Latigazo Cervical? Objetivo: Evaluar la efectividad de un tratamiento que incluye ejercicios específicos de la musculatura flexora cervical profunda frente al tratamiento convencional en pacientes con Síndrome de latigazo cervical tipo IIB. Metodología: Se llevará a cabo un estudio experimental de tipo ensayo clínico controlado aleatorizado y de doble ciego. La muestra será obtenida por el Centro de atención primaria de Lleida y los hospitales de la ciudad, con un diagnóstico de Síndrome de latigazo cervical tipo II B de edades comprendidas entre 18 y 64 años. Estos sujetos se dividirán entre el grupo control y el experimental. El grupo control recibirá el programa de ejercicio terapéutico expuesto en la última guía clínica sobre el manejo del dolor agudo en síndrome de latigazo cervical, mientras que el grupo experimental recibirá este programa juntamente con un ejercicio analítico de la musculatura flexora cervical profunda. La intervención tendrá una duración de tres meses, pero el seguimiento y evaluación de los sujetos durará un año desde el primer día de la intervención. Concretamente una vez al mes durante los tres meses de la intervención, una a los seis meses y una a los doce meses.

Research question: What are the effects of training the deep cervical flexor muscles in patients with Whiplash Associated Disorder? Objective: Evaluate the effectiveness of a treatment that includes specific exercises of the deep cervical flexor musculature compared to conventional treatment in patients with Whiplash Associated Disorder Type IIB.

Methodology: An experimental study of a randomized, double-blind controlled clinical trial will be carried out. The patients of the study will be obtained by the Primary Care Center of Lleida and the hospitals of the city, with a diagnosis of B whiplash associated disorders Type IIB, aged between 18 and 64 years. These subjects will be divided between the control group and the experimental group. The control group will receive the therapeutic exercise program presented in the latest clinical guide on the management of acute pain in whiplash associated disorders, while the experimental group will receive this program together with an analytical exercise of the deep cervical flexor musculature. The intervention will last three months, but the monitoring and evaluation of the subjects will last one year from the first day of the intervention. Specifically, once a month during the three months of the intervention, one at six months and one at twelve months.
