Misèria i control polític a la comarca de l'Urgell durant el primer franquisme

Abstract

Este artículo analiza las durísimas condiciones de la vida cotidiana en la inmediata postguerra a través de las actividades benéficas desarrolladas por Auxilio Social en las diferentes poblaciones de la comarca de Urgell. El repaso de la caridad administrada a la población adulta y, especialmente, a la infantil evidencia que la política social, inserida en el contexto fascista del Estado, fue inseparable del combate ideológico. Bajo los parámetros del nacionalsindicalismo y el nacionalcatolicismo, la beneficencia fue instrumentalizada como un recurso más para estigmatizar a los vencidos de la Guerra Civil.

This article analyses the very hard conditions of the daily life in the immediate postwar through the charitable activities developed by Auxilio Social in the different populations of Urgell region. The review of the charity administered to the adult population and, especially, to child ones shows that the social politics, inserted in the fascist context of the State, were united of the ideological fight. Under the parameters of the Falange’s doctrine and the nationalcatolicism, the charity was used as a resource more to stigmatize the defeated population of the Civil War.
