Abstract

Work-family balance is an important topic because is closely related to family well-being. The aim of this article is to explore the relationship between job autonomy, work-family balance, organizational pride and job satisfaction. Regarding employee work-family balance our research takes into consideration both employer and employee support. The survey contains responses of 374 employees in a Spanish pharmaceutical organisation. Results support the hypothesized influence of employer work-family support and autonomy on employee work-family balance. Similarly, employee work- family balance is positively related with organizational pride, and finally, related to job satisfaction. We believe this study provides a useful measurement model that employers can use to evaluate and improve work-family balance. Organizations should pay attention to work-family practices in order to enhance organizational pride and job satisfaction.
