The objective of this article is to systematize the characteristics of the so-called media convergence with reference to today’s audio-visual entertainment. Our attention focuses primarily on the two properties of this phenomenon which are best suited to these productions: the distribution of contents by means of different types of devices (television, Internet, mobile devices) and the audience participation promoted by the symbiosis between platforms. The theoretical concepts which govern the formula of convergence appear by various real cases. The organization of this text precisely imitates the structure of an entertainment program, with a presentation (which serves as a theoretical framework), a development or body (where the doctrine of convergence is combined with real case studies) and a closing (or conclusion).
