This is the final report for an EPS project in Vilanova I La Geltrú, Catalunya, Spain. A team of six people of different nationalities are working together with a company to complete the project. Working in a team with different nationalities is the key to success during this project.
The primary goal of the project itself is to find a way to convert the energy of the sun into electrical energy. Various methods can be used to achieve this goal. In this project mirrors will be used to focus the sun’s energy on one focus line. In the focus line a pipe containing a fluid will be placed. This fluid will be heated up and will be used to make steam. The steam will then be used to make a turbine run and generate electricity. A prototype is already made but incomplete. In order to complete the project, calculations are made about the Organic Rankine Cycle system. As a result certain recommendations will be made. The companies will use these recommendations to make a final decision on how to finish the prototype. |
