Roma, ciutat absent(o quasi) en l'obra de Josep Pla

Abstract

Aquest article, que forma part d'una recerca sobre les relacions de Josep Pla amb Itàlia, pretén indagar per què la ciutat de Roma ocupa un lloc relativament tan poc important en la seva obra periodística i creativa. En aquest estudi -com en tota la sèrie de treballs dedicats a les esmentades relacions- es parteix del primer -i, en aquest cas, únic- paper que l'escriptor empordanès dedicà a la Ciutat Eterna, en què es condensa l'actitud i el sentiment envers ella que es mantindran gairebé inalterables al llarg de la seva vida.

This article, forming part of a research project into relations between Josep Pla and Italy, aims to determine why the city of Rome occupies a relatively unimportant position within his journalistic and creative work. The study -as in the entire series of work dedicted to the relations mentioned above- starts with the first -and, in this case, the only- paper in which the Catalan writer focussed on the Eternal City, and which condenses both his attitudes and feeling towards it, almost unalterably maintained throughout his life.
