Acerca del problema del potencial semántico del progresivo en español

Abstract

The article contains analysis of various definitions of the meaning of the construction estar + gerundio in Spanish treated as the Progressive form, from the viewpoint of general aspectology. On the basis of detailed examination of the use of this construction in modern literary texts, the author proposes a new treatment of the categorical meaning of the Spanish Progressive.
