Revisant els objectius de l'acadèmia. Les referències sobre immigració negroafricana a Espanya i Catalunya

Abstract

Aquest article presenta un recull i una revisió bibliogràfica de les publicacions acadèmiques sobre immigració negroafricana vinculada a temàtiques generals produïda a l'àmbit nacional espanyol, per analitzar en quina mesura la investigació s'ha interessat per les especificitats d'aquestes migracions des dels anys vuitanta, quan situem l'arribada d'aquesta població, fins a l'actualitat. Es mostra que les publicacions referents a la immigració negroafricana a Catalunya i Espanya, tot i no disminuir en volum al llarg de les diferents etapes vinculades als fluxos migratoris, han perdut pes específic respecte el total de publicacions sobre migracions. En relació a les temàtiques abordades s'observen desequilibris i buits importants. L'article constata que les investigacions han centrat el seu interès en aquest grup segons l'evolució dels fluxos migratoris més que en les problemàtiques específiques viscudes pels immigrants negroafricans en els seus processos d'incorporació social, contribuint a invisibilitzar-les. La segona part del text es centrarà en tres àmbits concrets de producció, centrals en l'anàlisi de la immigració : mercat de treball, salut i educació.

This paper presents a review of the academic publications about black African immigration produced nationwide in Spain with the aim to analyze the extent to which research has been sensitive to its specific features since the eighties, when the initial immigrant influx started, until today. The work provides evidence on how publication referred to black African immigration to Catalonia and Spain has lost relative weight in relation to the global production on migrations, despite the fact that it has not diminished in numbers through the different stages in which the new immigration cycle can be divided: important imbalances and gaps of knowledge on black African immigration to Spain and Catalonia can be observed. The paper shows that research has focused on this migrant group according to the evolution of migration influxes rather than on specific problems as lived by black African immigrants in their processes of social incorporation, indirectly contributing to neglect them. In the second part of the study, we will focus on the specific areas of research, central for the immigration analysis : labour market, health and education.
