Aproximación a la unidad párrafo : un enfoque plural

Abstract

El párrafo es una unidad de suma importancia en los procesos de producción e interpretación del texto. Constituye un vínculo entre el emisor y el receptor, en el sentido de que permite a aquel dar forma a la estructura mental que subyace al escrito, al tiempo que guía al lector hacia una interpretación determinada. Es cierto, no obstante, que los parágrafos no poseen unas propiedades homogéneas y siempre perceptibles, lo cual ocasiona problemas, a la hora de segmentar en párrafos un texto, a los usuarios de la escritura menos experimentados, al tiempo que justifica la tardanza con que se han adoptado los actuales procedimientos ortotipográficos de marca de párrafo.

The paragraph is a unit of great importance in the processes of production and interpretation of the text. It constitutes a link between the addresser and the addressee in the sense that it allows to shape the underlying mental structure of the writing while guiding the reader towards a particular interpretation. It is true, however, that paragraphs do not have homogeneous and always noticeable features when it comes to segment a text into paragraphs. This causes problems to the less experienced users of writing and it is also the reason for the delay in adopting the current procedures of orthotypography of paragraph mark.
