O trabalho analisa a caracterizaçao do rei Gontrao (561-592) nos Libri Historiarum de Gregório de Tours (c. 538-594), na qual a bondade, piedade e justiça do rei o tornam merecedor da identificaçao como sacerdos Domini e Ihe conferem poderes taumatúgicos. Sao discutidas ainda as implicaçoes dessa imagen para o estabelecimento da noçao de realeza sacerdotal na Gália merovíngia.
The work analyzes the characterization of King Guntram (561-592) in the Gregory's of Tours (c.538-594) Libri Historiarum, in which the goodness, mercy and justice of the king become it deserving of the identification as sacerdos Domini and they confer to it thaumaturgic powers. The implications of this image for the establishment of the notion of sacerdotal royalty in the Merovingian Gaul are argued still.
