Estudio contrastivo del folleto médico (inglés-español)

Abstract

Conocer el comportamiento de un mismo género textual en dos lenguas diferentes ayuda a que los traductores realicen los cambios correspondientes en el texto meta teniendo en cuenta los patrones propios de la cultura de destino. Con este trabajo pretendemos dar a conocer los resultados obtenidos en un análisis contrastivo sobre los folletos médicos en inglés y en español. En él, con la ayuda de dos corpus textuales, tratamos de establecer las características que dicho género presenta en ambas lenguas. Tras señalar la relevancia de los folletos médicos y la relación existente entre traducción y análisis contrastivo, procederemos a describir nuestro estudio, los dos corpus con los que trabajaremos así como los objetivos perseguidos. Posteriormente, explicaremos con detalle las dos fases de nuestro modelo de análisis. Por último, expondremos, contrastaremos y comentaremos los resultados obtenidos en cada una de las categorías analizadas.

Knowing the behaviour of a text genre in two different languages helps translators make the appropriate changes in the target text according to patterns in the target culture. With this work, we aim to show the results obtained in a contrastive analysis of medical leaflets in English and in Spanish. Using two text corpora, we will try to establish the features that this text genre presents in both languages. After referring to the relevance of medical leaflets as well as the relationship between translation and contrastive analysis, we will describe our study, the two corpora we will work with and the main aims we try to reach. Then, we will explain in detail the two stages of our model of analysis. Finally, we will show, contrast and comment on the results obtained in each of the categories that we analysed.
