Kom el-Khamasin : arqueología y epigrafía

Abstract

El yacimiento de Kom el-Khamasín está situado en Saqqara sur, muy entrado el desierto, a unos 3 km al oeste de la pirámide de Djedkare Isesi. En 1977, un equipo del Institut d'Estudis del Pròxim Orient Antic de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona llevó a cabo allí una breve prospección arqueológica y, en 2005, uno de los autores estudió la epigrafía y la iconografía de una serie de 57 bloques o fragmentos de bloques de piedra caliza y 5 fragmentos de granito que el Inspectorado de Saqqara había recuperado del yacimiento en 1999 y había guardado en el almacén de El-Mohemat, en Saqqara. La epigrafía de Kom el Khamasín indica que el yacimiento es una pequeña necrópolis de finales del Reino Antiguo y -probablemente- principios del Primer Período Intermedio. El personaje más importante enterrado allí es un tal Imephor-Impy, «Grande de los jefes de los artesanos», es decir, Primer sacerdote de Ptah en Menfis

The site of Kom el-Khamaseen is located in south Saqqara, very far in the desert, about 3 km west from the pyramid of Djedkare Isesi. In 1997 a team from the Institut d'Estudis del Pròxim Orient Antic of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona carried out a brief archaeological survey there and in 2005 one of the authors studied the epigraphy and the iconography of a series of 57 limestone blocks or block fragments and 5 little granite fragments which the Saqqara Inspectorate had recovered from the site in 1999 and kept in the El- Mohemat magazine in Saqqara. The epigraphy of Kom el-Khamaseen shows us that the site is a little cemetery dated to the end of the Old Kingdom and -probably- the beginning of the First Intermediate Period. The most impotant character buried here is a certain Imephor-Impy, «Great of the chiefs of craftmen», that is to say, Great priest of Ptah at Memphis
