Lo fantástico y el humor en las caricaturas de Boligán

Abstract

A la luz de diversas propuestas teóricas, estudiamos algunas caricaturas de Ángel Boligán, contenidas en el libro El amor y otras mentiras(2016). Le damos prioridad al componente menos tratado al abordar la caricatura, y tratamos el humor como un elemento de estudio, en el análisis de lo fantástico. Los resultados permiten constatar la importancia que tienen los códigos culturales en la captación de efectos fantásticos y humorísticos, comprobar la operatividad de algunas consideraciones metodológicas, identificar puntos de contacto entre los dos conceptos, y ahondar en el conocimiento del trabajo de un artista que cuenta con un destacado reconocimiento internacional.

In light of various theoretical proposals, we analyze some of Angel Boligán's cartoons from the book Love and Other Lies(2016), to identify the way in which they fit or are distanced from definitions of the fantastic. We also analyze some resources that the graphic artist uses to propitiate humorous and fantastic effects. Our study allows us to verify the importance of interpretive cultural codes in the capture of fantastic and humoristic effects, to check the operation and limits of some methodological considerations, to identify points of contact between humor and fantasy, but, above all, to further knowledge of the work of an artist who has outstanding international recognition.
