Las relaciones divinas : estado del tema a fines del siglo xvii en un texto colonial

Abstract

Desde el siglo xiii al xvii la doctria de las relaciones divinas se desarrolla, se amplifica y finalmente se estandariza en un número limitado, aunque considerable, de soluciones que ya desde el siglo xvi pueden considerarse irreconciliables; la última etapa de las controversias muestra el método disputativo teológico en su máximo desarrollo. Este corpus, elaborado en Europa, se transmite rápidamente a América, donde encontramos numerosos testimonios de las controversias teológicas De Deo. Se presenta un caso paradigmático tanto del status quaestionis final como de la translatio americana: el tema tal como es desarrollado en el tratado De divina essentia et attributis del profesor neogranadino Mateo de Mimbela SJ en un manuscrito colombiano. Representa el estado final de las discusiones de la primera y segunda escolástica sobre el tema, expuesto con profusa mención de las líneas disputativas: el tomismo, el escotismo y las variantes dentro del grupo jesuita.

From the thirteenth to the seventeenth century, the doctrine of divine relations developed, amplified, and finally standardized into a limited but considerable number of solutions that, as early as the sixteenth century, can be considered irreconcilable. The last stage of the controversies shows the theological disputative method at its maximum development. This corpus, elaborated in Europe, is quickly transmitted to America, where we find numerous witnesses of theological controversies De Deo. A paradigmatic case is presented, both of the final status quaestionis and of the American translatio: the theme as developed in the treatise De divina essentia et attributis of the neo-Granadian professor Mateo de Mimbela SJ in a Colombian manuscript. It represents the final state of the discussions of the first and second scholastics on the subject, expounded with profuse mention of the disputative lines: Thomism, Scotism and variants within the Jesuit group.
