Gerda Lerner y la Asiriología, un desprecio mutuo

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se analiza de forma específica la relación entre Gerda Lerner y la Asiriología, surgida a partir de la gestación de su influyente obra The Creation of Patriarchy. El artículo consta de dos partes. En la primera estudiaremos las causas que explican el general rechazo que sufrió The Creation of Patriarchy en el ámbito asiriológico. En la segunda, trataremos de comprender cuál fue la actitud de Lerner en relación con los estudios asiriológicos.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the relationship between Gerda Lerner and Assyriology, on the occasion of the publication of her influential work The Creation of Patriarchy. This paper is dividided in two main parts. First, we will study the causes explaining the general rejection experienced by the book in the Assyriological studies. Then, we will try to reconstruct Lerner's attitude towards Assyriology.
