La música barroca i les proporcions

Abstract

Des de l'antiguitat clàssica i en les diverses confessions -jueus, catòlics i protestants- ha existit la tradició de l'estudi teòric de les proporcions aplicades a la música. Tanmateix, nosaltres ens centrarem en els aspectes que justifiquen aquest ús en l'àmbit del Barroc luterà i tractarem d'extrapolar-lo a l'àmbit del Barroc hispànic. Per assolir l'objectiu del treball, s'exposarà l'argumentació pel que fa al món luterà i s'incidirà en pensadors i teòrics que hagin tractat el tema en qüestió. S'il·lustrarà amb alguns exemples que mostrin l'ús de les proporcions. Finalment, hom es preguntarà si en el Barroc contrareformista hispànic també hi havia la consciència sobre la proporció musical i la seva aplicació.

Desde la antigüedad clásica y en las diversas confesiones -judíos, católicos y protestantes- ha existido la tradición del estudio teórico de las proporciones aplicadas a la música. Sin embargo, nosotros nos centraremos en los aspectos que justifican este uso en el ámbito del Barroco luterano y trataremos de extrapolarlo en el ámbito del Barroco hispánico. Para lograr el objetivo del trabajo, se expondrá la argumentación respecto al mundo luterano y se incidirá en pensadores y teóricos que hayan tratado el tema en cuestión. Se ilustrará con algunos ejemplos que muestren el uso de las proporciones. Finalmente, se preguntará si en el Barroco contrarreformista hispánico también existía la conciencia sobre la proporción musical y su aplicación.

Since classical antiquity and in the various denominations -Jews, Catholics and Protestants- there has been a tradition of the theoretical study of proportions applied to music. However, we will focus on the aspects that justify this use in the area of the Lutheran Baroque and we will try to extrapolate it to the area of the Hispanic Baroque. To achieve the objective of the work, the argumentation regarding the Lutheran world will be presented and the focus will be on thinkers and theorists who have dealt with the subject in question. It will be illustrated with some examples that show the use of proportions. Finally, one will wonder if in the Spanish counter-reformist Baroque there was also an awareness of musical proportion and its application.
