Abstract

Nowadays, any company wants to gain a clear competitive advantage in the market. In order to reach this goal it can be important to participate in networks, especially in the case of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Highly competitive markets require companies to be more flexible, innovative and responsive to their customer needs. In order to access such markets, SMEs need to join forces with others to overcome their limitations through collaboration. This document deals with Collaborative Network Organizations (CNO). The CNO concepts are clarified and classified throughout a bibliographic study. Then a three axes representation is introduced in order to map and classify CNOs considering the deepness of the collaboration.
