Abstract

A Self-Protection Plan is a system of control and security management in the carrying out of corporate activities. Not only it is an effective way of defining an emergency protocol, but it also represents one of the foundations for the civil protection in our country. The concept of self-protection has been forged over many years and it has undergone significant changes. This has been reflected in the recent legislation, since there is a constant reference to it in the different laws and regulations. This paper provides an example of Self-Protection Plan that has been done for a rubber industry specialized in the coating of industrial rollers. The whole procedure for conducting it is described in Decree 82/2010, of 29 June, which specifies the activities and the premises that must be provided with a Self-Protection Plan. It has also been necessary to look into other laws and regulations on storage of dangerous chemicals and maintenance of technical installations and equipment. All this is illustrated in drawings and diagrams that show the means of protection against fires and other emergency situations.
