Inter-ethnic conflicts are highly linked to the territory. In Sarajevo for one thousand three hundred and ninety-five days, the urban system was subjected to severe stress that would provoke adaptability processes related to self-organization. However, the consequences of the war exceeded the armed conflict and divided the urban region in two systems. Currently, the administrative duplication and the disconnection between two adjacent urban structures initiate the debate of the reconnection between both realities. From our
perspective, we consider it an opportunity to introduce urban planning and urban development in the discussion on a new management structure and more sustainable urban cohesion
