Abstract
Gerardo Caballero's work (Totoras, Argentina, 1957) can be assessed as a foundational act meant to make the vast horizons of the Pampa region in Argentina inhabitable. By his use of elemental materials and solutions and basic shapes (based on the popular barns that can be found throuout the Pampa), his architecture evokes nonetheless a remarkable sense of emotion and of beauty. Three words, horizon, barn, beauty, define his unique approach at founding a place to live.
