Análisis y aplicación del sistema Passivhaus en climas tropicales. Zona de studio: caribe colombiano

Abstract

Passivhaus es un estándar mundial de construcción basado en la eficiencia energética de los edificios, se caracteriza por requerir muy poca energía para lograr un ambiente confortable durante todo el año y ofrece un nivel superior de comodidad, higiene y calidad de la edificación. Su aplicación inicial se limitó a la región centro-europea y se ha extendido a lo largo del mundo, implementándose en regiones con características climáticas distintas. Sin embargo, la aplicación del estándar en climas tropicales, aún se encuentra en estudio, observando en los primeros modelos un buen comportamiento frente a los requerimientos de la certificación en los lugares que han sido estudiados. Este trabajo se enfocó en estudiar la aplicabilidad del Estándar para viviendas unifamiliares en la Región Caribe de Colombia, tomando como base de estudio dos edificaciones con características constructivas y número de ocupantes diferentes, con un consumo de energía promedio, en una región de condiciones climáticas no variables, el cual se analizaron por medio de una herramienta de cálculo para determinar la demanda energética de la misma. Durante este proceso se Identificaron factores que mejoraron notablemente los requerimientos energéticos de las edificaciones, pero al mismo tiempo se determinaron situaciones que limitan la aplicación del estándar en la región de estudio.

ANGLÈS: Passivhaus is a global standard based on the building energy efficiency. It is characterized for a very low energy requirement to achieve a comfortable environment all the year, and offers a high level of comfort, hygiene and quality of the buildings. Its initial application was limited to the central European region, and it has spread throughout the world in regions with different climatic characteristics. However, the Standard application in tropical climates, it´s still under study, showing a good behavior against the certification requirements in the first study cases. This work aims to study the applicability of the Standard for residential buildings in Colombia´s Caribbean region. Based on the study of two buildings with different constructions systems and number of occupants, with an average power consumption, in a region with the same weather conditions all the year, which were analyzed by a calculation tool to determine the energy demand for it. During this process, were identified some factors that significantly improved the energy requirements of buildings, and were established situations that limit the application of the standard in the study region.
