La Imagen pública de la inmigración en las series de televisión españolas

Abstract

En este artículo presentamos los resultados principales de un análisis semio–narrativo acerca de la imagen que proyectan las series de televisión españolas sobre los inmigrantes. Este estudio forma parte de un proyecto de investigación más amplio, financiado por el Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnología en España y desarrollado por el grupo UNICA de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Los resultados ofrecen cinco narraciones prototípicas en las que suelen aparecer personajes inmigrantes en las series de televisión españolas. Finalmente, se reflexiona sobre los posibles efectos de estos encuadres narrativos recurrentes en la construcción de una imagen pública de la inmigración en España.

In this article we present the main results of a semio–narrative analysis about the image of the immigrants that project the Spanish series of television. This study represents an ampler project of investigation, financed by the 'Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnología' in Spain and developed by group UNICA of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. The results offer five prototypical narrations in which usually immigrant characters appear in the Spanish series of television. Finally, a reflection is made about the possible effects of these recurrent narrative frames in the construction of a public image of immigration in Spain.
