Desarrollo del turismo cultural en el Parc Natural del Montgrí, Illes Medes, Baix Ter (Spain)

Abstract

Las áreas naturales protegidas como figuras de protección clave en las estrategias de conservación, favorecen el desarrollo del turismo en estas zonas, donde se relaciona positivamente con el turismo de naturaleza. Sin embargo, el patrimonio cultural y por tanto el desarrollo de este tipo de turismo no resulta evidente como tipología turística. El Parque Natural del Montgrí, les Illes Medes i el Baix Ter (PNMMBT), es una figura legal de protección de los valores naturales y culturales de esta zona del litoral catalán situada entre las comarcas del Baix y Alt Empordà, que pretende hacer compatible esta protección con el desarrollo socioeconómico y sostenible de la zona. A partir de los resultados de las entrevistas y de la revisión bibliográfica del territorio, este trabajo aporta una relación bibliográfica entre ambos conceptos realizando una presentación de la situación turística actual del destino y se realiza una propuesta para la mejora del desarrollo del turismo cultural en relación con el patrimonio cultural y natural del territorio

Protected natural areas as key protection figures in the conservation strategies of natural areas to develop the tourism in these protected areas, where it is positively related to nature tourism. However, cultural heritage and therefore the development of this type of tourism is not evident as a tourist typology. The Natural Park del Montgrí, les Illes Medes i el Baxi Ter (PNMMBT), is a legal figure of protection of the natural and cultural values of this area of the Catalan coast located between the regions of Baix and Alt Empordà, which they try to do compatible with this protection with the socioeconomic and sustainable development of the area. Based on the results of the interviews and the literature review of the territory, this work provides a bibliographic relationship between these two concepts, a presentation of the current tourist situation of the destination and a proposal is made to improve the development of cultural tourism in relation to the cultural and natural heritage of the territory
