Factores relacionados con la percepción de la calidad docente del profesorado universitario

Abstract

Se usaron los resultados cuantitativos de las encuestas de valoración cumplimentadas por los estudiantes sobre su opinión respecto a la docencia del profesorado, según el modelo utilizado anualmente por la propia universidad, para determinar cuáles son las variables que se asocian significativamente con la percepción de calidad de la docencia por parte del estudiantado. Mediante técnicas cualitativas (entrevistas y grupos de discusión), se elucidó el discurso sobre la docencia característico del profesorado mejor valorado por los alumnos.

Los resultados sugieren posibles intervenciones a realizar por la universidad para mejorar la percepción de la calidad docente, así como la necesidad de sistematizar la información de la que disponen las universidades desde diversos ámbitos de gestión para facilitar un seguimiento continuado y estudiar las posibles acciones.

The quantitative results obtained from the yearly questionnaires designed by the university and filled in by the students as regards their opinion on the teaching practices of the university teachers were used in order to determine the variables that are positively associated with the perception of teaching quality by the students. By means of qualitative techniques (interviews and discussion groups), it became clear what the particular characteristics of the best valued university teachers by the students were. The results suggest possible changes to be made by the university to improve the perception of teaching quality.

The results further point to the need to systematise the information the university may have from different administrative sources in order to facilitate a continuous track and to study possible actions.
