La integració escolar de l' alumnat d' origen estranger al Pla d' Urgell

Abstract

Aquest article exposa els resultats d’un estudi realitzat el 2011 per l’Observatori Permanent de la Immigració (OPI) i se centra en l’escolarització i integració dels joves d’origen estranger en la comarca del Pla d’Urgell, concretament en els nivells d’Educació Primària i Secundària Obligatòria (ESO) i Postobligatòria (Cicles Formatius de Grau Mitjà i Superior). Partint de dades sociodemogràfiques, s’ha utilitzat després una metodologia eminentment qualitativa mitjançant entrevistes en profunditat a mestres i membres dels equips directius d’escoles i instituts i també a tècnics de l’administració. S’analitza el discurs dels docents i dels tècnics per tal de conèixer la seva percepció sobre la integració de l’alumne immigrant i les seves famílies; les seves actituds i expectatives acadèmiques, i les mesures adoptades pels centres educatius per afavorir l’acollida i la integració d’aquest alumnat i les seves famílies.

This article exposes the results of a study realised in 2011 by the Permanent Observatory on the Immigration (OPI) and focuses on the schooling and integration of foreign youngsters in Pla d’Urgell county, concretely in Primary Education, Secondary Education (ESO) and Post-Compulsory Education (intermediate and advanced levels of vocational training). Starting from socio-demographic data, we used a qualitative measure through in-depth interviews to teachers and members of the management teams of schools. As well as administration technicians. we analyse their discourse to discover their perception of the student integration and his/her family, the attitudes and academic expectation, and the measures that have been adopted by these centres to favour the welcome and integration of these students and their families.
